FRUIT & VEGETABLES –If it falls from a tree, then it’s safe to say it’s a good option. The idea is to try and eat foods that have not been altered by humans in any way. Try and buy local from the nearest farmer’s market, this way you are guaranteed quality produce, along with supporting your local farmers!
LEAN MEATS –Meat is not our enemy. Lean meats are a fantastic source of protein, which creates lean muscle and keeps you feeling fuller for longer – BONUS!  When buying meat, stick to lean, quality meats from your local butcher.
GRAINS –Think ‘whole’ grains. Things like brown rice, quinoa, rye breads and oatmeal are all good options. Steer clear of ‘white’ breads, pasta and rice – brown is best!
FEWER PACKAGED FOODS –Just because it claims to be healthy, doesn’t mean it’s a good choice. Many packaged foods are a company’s advertisement, attempting to lure shoppers into buying their product. You will find that there are many hidden nasties in foods found in the supermarket that can negatively impact your health.
H20 IS THE WAY TO GO –Keep yourself hydrated all day long, and the best way to do that is good old fashioned water! Most drinks found in the supermarket are full of sugar, even some orange juice! The best option is to juice your own at home, so much better for you!

One simple rule to abide. The fresher it is, the better it’d be for you. Think about it this way. If you want to drink orange juice. You can either: Eat it, Juice it or drink a store bought orange juice. However, no matter how good the store bought orange juice claims to be, it can never beat a fresh orange.

Have you ever heard the expression “use it or lose it”? It’s true! If you don’t use your body, you will surely lose it. Your muscles will become flabby and weak. Your heart and lungs won’t function efficiently. And your joints will be stiff and easily injured. Inactivity is as much of a health…

Please share, reblog, tweet, etc…Twitch could be euthanized this week (April 16th) if nobody expresses interest in adopting him. He is at Montgomery County SPCA (Perkiomenville Facility) in Perkiomenville, PA.

Twitch is a 5 year old Plott Hound mix. He is housebroken and has some basic obedience training. He enjoys being outside and taking long walks (he walks well on leash). The shelter staff feel he would be better in a home with no children or any other animals. He is not really a family dog and although he is okay with everyone, a home with a single person may be best. He was brought into the shelter due to behavorial issues that will require further training with a professional trainer. Twitch would love to be with a hunter/outdoors person or someone who is used to or has experience with hunting dogs as Twitch has the absolute hunting dog mentality. He is NOT a dog for the novice owner. He loves to give kisses and will make a great companion. Twitch has been at the shelter since October 20, 2011.
